Khasadrapchu MSS observed the internal Menstrual Day with due importance and proper coordination as it mattered more than the day itself. The significance and observation is actually a message across nations and culture about the wrong stigma and dogmatism associated with menstrual process associated with the females. Untrue and misguided interpretations are highly to be erased and thus the school observed the day perfectly. The World Menstrual Hygiene Day is observed on 28th May every year.
The day began as usual with the national anthem and the student representative delivered a soothing speech on behalf of the health club on the importance of the day. She expressed the need to be casual and normal with the natural processes and not to be hesitant about it. Her speech covered the aspects of the children going through the stage and how to avoid the negative or old beliefs over the menstrual cycle which is unavoidable and eternal.
The non-academic vice principal was next to supplement and share upon the importance of the day. He too expressed on the importance of understanding the nature of the menstruation and how every male can be understanding and helpful. He also highlighted the positive change in the behavior of the boys and for that he thanked the boys.
Lastly, he commented and re-stressed on the avoidance of the age old stigma and dogma associated to menstruation. He shared his knowledge, experiences and observations regarding menstruation and mark the day well by thanking all the stake-holders and speakers for making the global day significant in the school.
Followed by the speech, students and staff started donating pads for the school. The collected pads are kept in the designated area to be used by any girl and lady staff while they are on periods in the school. This ensures that the child doesn’t miss their class just because of menstruation.
